Rosie Mae Taylor

October 28, 1941 — September 13, 2016

Rosie Mae Taylor, 74, of Monetta, passed away, Tuesday, September 13 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Rosie retired from the Aiken County Public School District after serving 31 years. She was a 1960 graduate of Ridge Spring Monetta High School. She had a deep, abiding faith in her Lord, which revealed itself through a lifetime of thoughtful, selfless acts. She adored her family, friends and the countless children she taught. Giving to others brought her much joy and it was one of her many gifts. She loved to sew and crochet and in later years she and Maybanks spent many happy seasons in North Carolina with their Maggie Valley family. While there, she delighted in tending to her beautiful flowers and spent much time enjoying the company of her beloved friends.

Rosie was born October 28, 1941 in Aiken County, to the late Roy and Etter Jane Rankin.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Olin Maybanks Taylor; son and daughter-in-law, Randy (Beverly) Taylor; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa (Paul) Carroll; three grandchildren, Mallory Wise (Kevin); Megan Rush (Matt); and Dillon Carroll; one great-grandchild, Brooke Wise; and one sister, Marie Hall (Mickey).

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 16, at 3:00 PM at First Calvary Baptist Church in Leesville, with interment at the First Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Active pallbearers will be Donnie Taylor, Dillon Carroll, Andrew Fallaw, Mark Thompson, Ronnie Connelly and Junior Miller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home. P.O. Box 1178 Greenwood, SC 29648-1178 or The Salvation Army, Resource Development, P.O. Box 241808, Charlotte, NC 28224-1808.
