Frances Mccarty

Frances "Bill" McCarty, 96, of Batesburg, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, May 23rd at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with interment in Batesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Frank Longshore will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 P.M. Sunday prior to the service beginning. Active pallbearers will be Troy Buzhardt, Simon Buzhardt, Barron Buzhardt, Mike McCarty, Van McCarty, and Mitch McCarty.

Ms. McCarty was born in Columbia, SC, the daughter of the late H.M. and Mrytle Matthews Buzhardt. She was married to the late Thomas Lee McCarty. Mrs. McCarty was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She was the secretary for her brother, Dr. R. E. "Dick" Buzhardt Chiropractor Office. She loved word searches, puzzles and tending to her garden. Mrs. McCarty also enjoyed raising her family and baking for the community. She had a feisty spirit that will be missed by many.

Surviving are her son, Gene McCarty; daughter, Marie McCarty; and special cousins, Tabitha Kneece (John) and their daughter, Keegan Kneece. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Carol E. McCarty; and seven brothers, H.L., John Pete, T.W., Jessie "Jug", David, Larry, and Dr. Richard E. "Dick" Buzhardt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2427, Leesville, SC 29070.
