Franklin Heyward

Franklin Heyward, 77, of Batesburg, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Old Samaria Baptist Church with interment in Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Reverend Robert Patterson and Reverend Starrett Hall officiating. Active pallbearers will be DJ Heywood, Vance Oswald, Shannon Temples, Clayton Hartley, John Hartley, and Shawn Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie Oswald, Westley Hartley and Chris McGee. Mr. Heyward was born in Samaria, SC, son of the late Otis and Willa Kneece Heyward. He was married to the late Carrol Snipes Heyward. Mr. Franklin enjoyed hunting, fishing, wrestling and races. He was a member of Old Samaria Baptist Church. Surviving are his sons, James Clinton "Buck" Jackson; Robert Franklin (Tonya) Heyward; daughter, Carolane "Laney" Boozer; ten grandchildren; and twenty two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, David Carol Heyward; daughter, Rosemary Heyward; sisters, Blondal Hall; Annalee Johnson; and brothers, MC, LW, JW, Roy, and Robert Heyward. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at his home.
