Geneva Sue Berry Black

Geneva Sue Berry Black, 77, of Saluda, widow of the late Valton G. Black, went home to be with our Lord and Savior January 30, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 3, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Campbell and Rev. Burton Campbell officiating. Born on December 3, 1938 in Saluda, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carl Henry Sr. and Mattie Corley Berry. She was a former employee of Delta Loans, and a member of Sardis Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Bradden Berry Black (Susan); two granddaughters, Mattie and Jordan Black; sisters, Louise Ring; Barbara Elaine Black (Bobby); Sally Hughes (Raymond); Nancy Duncan; Sylvia Asbill (Billy); brothers, Carl Henry Berry, Jr (Sylvia); and George Berry. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 2, at Sardis Baptist Church, other times at her son's home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Memory of Geneva Black to Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Prayer Garden Funding at Saluda First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
