George Wise

George Simon Wise, 79, of Ridge Spring died Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Mr. Wise was born in Batesburg, SC and was a son of the late William and Helen Burgess Wise . He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and retired from Davey Tree Service. Mr. Wise meet the love of his life, Willow Mae Gunter, at the age of 14. They were married for 61 years until her passing on April 3, 2021. Mr. Wise loved the outdoors, spending time with his family and traveling to the mountains.

He is survived by his son, Timmy Wise (Debbie); grandchildren, Victoria Wise (Steven Lynn), Renee Preston (Landon); great grandchildren, Bailey and Peyton. Mr. Wise is also survived by his sister, Mary W. Hallman; brothers, Frankie Wise and Marvin Wise (Pauline). In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Wise and Sammy Wise; and step-brother, William Thornwell Wise.

A service to celebrate the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Wise will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 17th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, 115 North Pine Street, Batesburg, SC. The Rev. Brion Holland and Rev. Manual Gunter will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
