Idell A. Shealy

Mrs. Idell A. Shealy, 94, of Leesville, went home to her Lord and Savior on January 19, 2016. She was born on October 9, 1921 to Minick and Stella Shealy. Mrs. Shealy retired from the sewing industry and was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed quilting with her sisters and delighted in tending to her garden and flowers. She was one of the oldest lifelong members of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the UMW. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Grady E. Shealy; infant daughter; sisters, Christine Martin Davis and Emily Hogan Moore; and a brother, William Luther Shealy. Mrs. Shealy is survived by her two sons, Archie (Shirley) Shealy; Talmadge (Linda) Shealy; brother, Offeral (Articel) Shealy; five grandchildren, SeDeris Fogle; Donovan (Scheree) Shealy; Walker (Angela) Shealy; McKinley (Sue Ellen) Shealy; Whitney (Jason) Miller; nine great grandchildren, Zoe and Ella Fogle; Brittany, Kaitlyn, and Chloe Herron; Baylee Shealy; Matthew Shealy; Max and Harper Miller; a great great grandchild, Braylen Tardiff; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 22 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, and other times at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery with Rev. Dr. Noble Miller, Rev. Debbie Miller, and Rev. Jim Johnston officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Martin, Harley Martin, David Rhoad, Randall Shealy, Steve Shealy, Jimmy Shealy, Donovan Shealy, and Walker Shealy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home c/o Rehoboth U.M.C., 936 Holley Ferry Road, Leesville, SC 29070. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of LMC Extended Care, Azalea Circle.
