Jan Covington Parrish

Jan Parrish, 61, of Batesburg, passed away November 7, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 11 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with interment in Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Rev. Justin Eshleman officiating.

Active pallbearer are Bryan Parrish, Curtis Quattlebaum, Paul Quattlebaum, Chris Oswald, Adam Roof, Brandon Schaefer and Tom Covington.

Jan was born in Gilbert, SC to the late James and Wilma Raye Shealy Covington. She was married to the late Larry Parrish. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir and head of social committee. She loved to watch her grands pay ball. Jan was a sweet Christian mother, grandmother “Nene”, sister and friend. She had worked for Lexington County Mental Health and Lewis Printing.

Surviving are her son and daughter, Travis Parrish (Samantha) of Batesburg; daughter and son-in-law, Chancie Frick (Todd) of Leesville; brothers, Thomas Covington (Jettie) and Wyman Covington (Becky) of Leesville; sisters, Ellon Quattlebaum (Nelson) of New Ellenton; Carol Oswald (Mike) of Gilbert; sister-in-law, Cathy McGill of Batesburg; grandchildren: Gavin Parrish and Skyler Frick; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Lynn Roof; brother-in-law, Allen Parrish; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Althea Parrish.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, November 10 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.
