Jean Corder Waters Starling

Jean Corder Waters Starling, 78, of Batesburg, passed away August 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, August 25, at West Creek Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with Rev. Hank Fanning officiating. Active pallbearers will be Todd Goff, C.J. Zeh, Michael Paul Corder, Michael Wall, Seth Chavis, Danny Anderson, and Tommy Sterling.

Mrs. Starling was born in Batesburg, SC, daughter of the late Rev. Jack and Virigina Whitlock Corder. She was a member of West Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Starling was an active member of her community and volunteered every chance she could. She was the last B-L Panther Cowbell Ladies. She was a loving mother, grandma and great grandma.

Surviving are her husband, Jerald B. Starling; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie Steinmeyer (Jimmy) of Columbia; Wanda Burnett (Randy) of Wilton, NH; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald Corder (Linda) of Lexington; sister, Norma Keisler of Batesburg; grandchildren, Joey Burnett (Angela); Jessica Goff (Todd); Dana Burnett (George Sheppherd); Tommy Sterling, Jr.; Caitlin Sterling; Jessica Lynn Anderson (Stevie); Danny Anderson (Heather); Andrea Zeh (C.J.); Robert Waters, Jr (Erin); and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Homer T. Waters; son, Robert “Radar” Stephen Waters, Sr; and sister, Ruth Ellen Ray.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 24, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at her home. Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Home.
