Joey Starnes

Joey William Starnes,66, of Lexington, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2021. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of Mary Rayfield Starnes Jacobs and the late James Fletcher Starnes. Joey graduated from Lexington High School and attended Holmes Bible College. He was a member of West Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gayle L. Starnes; his mother, Mary; a daughter, Angela Suggs (John); stepdaughter, Shannon Kester (Robbie); granddaughters, Jessica Suggs, Abbie Suggs, Trinity Kester, and Alana Kester. He is also survived by his brothers, James "Jimmy" Starnes (Anita), Johnny Starnes (Annette), Jerry Starnes (Mary) and Jack Starnes (Jackie). In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Noreen Starnes Wilson.

The graveside service for Mr. Starnes will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC with the Rev. Gerald Starnes officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
