John Pickens Riser

John Pickens “Slo” Riser, 55, of Leesville, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2020. John was born in Naples, Italy and raised in Cairo, Egypt and London, England until the family moved back to Leesville in 1971. He enjoyed sports and reading.

John was a woodworker, truck driver and bartender; most recently at the Front Room Bar, where his friends were more of a chosen family.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Cmdr. Ellis and Anna Riser.

Surviving are his brother Jim, his wife Amy and their 2 children, Jacob and Rachel of Texas.
John also leaves behind special friends: Fred Vansant, Tim, Stephanie and Brianne Shealy, Tim and Lisa Sinnott and April Weeks, along with a host of others from the Front Room Bar.

A memorial is planned for August 2, 2020 from 3pm-6pm at the Front Room Bar.
