Kay Frances Thigpen Alford

Kay Frances Thigpen Alford went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her beloved husband and family on July 31, 2014. She was born in Charleston, SC on March 24, 1937. She was a loving wife, mother, and nanny to her family and numerous foster children over the years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carroll D. Alford; son, Carl Dwayne Alford; parents, Dewitt T. and Letha D. Thigpen; brothers, Robert Thigpen; Dewitt Thigpen; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce ( O'Neil) Sharpe. She is survived by children, Raymond Alford; Robin Alford; Mary Frances Alford Cooper; Tina Alford Davis; Randy Alford; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Doris (Joe) Stevens; sisters-in-law, Esther Thigpen; Mary Thigpen; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Roger Phillips at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday August 3, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Saluda Nursing Center in memory of the "pretty lady in purple", P.O. Box 398, Saluda, SC 29138.
