Lester Baker Hite, Sr.

Lester Baker Hite, Sr., 74, of Leesville, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 16, at Ridge Crest Memorial Park with entombment in Christ the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Reverend Sandra King will officiate the service. Mr. Hite was born in Leesville, SC, son of the late James O "Jack" and Dorothy Baker Hite. He was a local automobile dealer for over 38 years and the present owner of Bi-Rite Auto Sales in Batesburg. He was an avid gamecock fan, serving as a member of the Gamecock Club for 48 years. Mr. Hite enjoyed fishing, cooking, and socializing with family and friends. He was a member of Leesville United Methodist Church. Surviving are his son, Lester B. "Lee" Hite, Jr. of Batesburg; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Hite (Don) Richardson of Prosperity; brother, Jackie Hite of Leesville; sisters, Linda Danielson of Gilbert; Essie Steele of Batesburg; grandchildren, Haley Rae Hite; Hope Baker Corley; Mary Kathryn Corley; Don R. "Tripp" Richardson III; longtime family friend, Leroy "Bones" Roland; and former wife, Lois W. Hite. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at the home of Mrs. Lois W. Hite. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leesville United Methodist Church, 510 E. Columbia Ave, Leesville, SC 29070.
