Lizzie Mae Waters

Lizzie Mae Waters, 77, of Batesburg, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 3rd, at Batesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Lisa Isenhower will officiate.

Ms. Waters was born on April 29, 1944, in Aiken, SC, a daughter of the late Luther Waters, Sr. and Annie Mae Hendrix Waters. She was a confirmed member of Faith Lutheran Church in Batesburg. Earlier in her life Ms. Waters enjoyed attending Camp Hope and participating in Special Olympics.

Surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, Luther Waters, Jr. (Diane) of Alabama; sister, Ruby Elaine Waters Sonnett of Mt. Pleasant; 2 nieces, 2 grandnephews, 3 grandnieces, and many extended family members. Also cherishing her life is the family created by the Babcock Center Batesburg Group Home staff and clients where she resided for the past 30 years.
