Mabel Louise Gillian

Mabel Louise Gillian, 94, of Ward, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 19, at Richland Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Louie Murray officiating.

Mrs. Gillian was born in Grovetown, GA, daughter of the late George and Josie Ward Newman. She was married to the late Robert Lewis “R.L.” Gillian, Sr. She was a member of Emmanuel Church. Mrs. Gillian loved to sew and make quilts for everyone. She volunteered at Saluda Nursing Home. The family would like to thank Saluda Nursing Center for all their care and support.

Surviving are her son, Robert Lewis Gillian, Jr. (Susan Bowen) of Ward; daughters, Josie Fraley (Barry) of Johnston, Hammie Nix (Don Robertson) of Leesville; grandchildren, Christopher James Gillian (Heather), Kimbley Meachell Hartley (Brian), Tonia Louise Dillon (Virgil), Stephanie Tracey Knox , Daniel Robert Fraley, Amber Lynn Farmer (Bruce), Matthew Nix (Heather); and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, sisters and a very special daughter-in-law, Kathy “Kat” Gillian.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richland Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
