Steven Wade Gunter

Steven Wade Gunter, 60, of Swansea, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 16, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Gunter was born in Columbia, SC, son of Nellie Jeanette Gantt and the late Willie Gunter, Jr. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after working over 30 years as a letter carrier. Steve was loved by many and was affectionately known as Little Steve, Shoes and Mailman. He loved music, photography, and travel, but most of all he loved his family and the Lord.

Surviving are his mother, Jeanette Gantt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Willette Gunter (Karl) Hagenmeyer; Linda Gunter (Stephen) Smith; Louise (Arnold) Lingle; Lu (Von) Bickley; Kathy (Jimmy) Widener; brother and sister-in-law, Steve (Ann) Gantt; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Gunter, Jr; step-father, Robert Gantt; and brother, Donnie Gunter.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 15, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at the home of his mother.
