Thomas Platts

June 12, 1955 — February 15, 2020

Thomas Platts of Ridge Spring, 64, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 after a yearlong battle with leukemia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 22, at Cedar Creek Church on the Ridge with Rev. “K.T.” Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Platts was born in Columbia, SC, son of the late Edwin and Doris Trotter Platts. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of Cedar Creek on the Ridge where he was very active, volunteering and serving in various church roles. Mr. Platts was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Clemson Tigers and Dabo Swinney. He deeply loved his family and was so proud of each of them. Throughout his sickness, he never lost his unwavering faith. He always placed everything in God’s hands and let Him guide his path. His desire was for God to receive all the glory, especially during this difficult journey.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sandy Platts of Ridge Spring; three children, Becky (Jason) Williams of Lexington, Patty (Josh) Brickey of Gilbert; Daniel (Ashlyn) Platts of Lavonia, GA; nine grandchildren; two brothers; and a number of extended family members.
He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed!
