Velma Baird

Velma Jean Baird, 74, of Gilbert passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Born in Banner Elk, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Anna Mae Parsons Icenhour. Mrs. Baird was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church of Gilbert. She was a loving mother and will be missed by many.

Surviving are her life partner of 16 years, Richard Wilson; her children, Debbie Ann Hammons and Billy Joe Morefield, Jr. (Janet). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jolene Mains and Theresa Underwood; great grandchildren, Bella Jean, Cody, Kyle and Anna; and a brother, John T. Icenhour Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Abner Baird; a sister, Margaret Daddezio; and brothers, Paul and Frankie Icenhour.

A graveside service for Mrs. Baird will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 11th at Beulah United Methodist Church, 161 Beulah Church Road, Gilbert with Pastor Tony Rowell officiating.
