Veronica Madeline Gunter Padgett, 72, of Batesburg, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 22, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Brad Willis with burial in Samaria Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home before the service. Active pallbearers will be Darel Gunter, Danny Gunter, Patrick Gunter, Jeff Steele, Greg Steele and Robert Taylor. Mrs. Padgett was born in Aiken, SC, daughter of the late Leona Goff Gunter and James Willette Gunter. She was a member of Samaria Baptist Church. She was a clerk for Cone's Meat Market. Surviving are her husband, Carroll Wayne Padgett; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Padgett (Thomas Ray) Taylor of Batesburg; and grandchildren, Dylan West, Aren West, and Kristopher Taylor. She was preceded in death by sister, Sara Bagwell; and brothers, James W. and David Gunter.
