Alexander Callas

Funeral services for Alexander "Alex" Ernest Callas, Jr., 62, of Aiken, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Dew. Burial will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Callas, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Alexander and Louise Berryman Callas. He was a lifetime area resident and a member of First Baptist Church Montmorenci and also attended Cedar Creek Church. Upon completing a successful career as a Maintenance Multi Craftsman at Owens Corning Fiberglass in Aiken, he started Callas Construction, LLC, which he owned and operated until his death. Mr. Callas had a strong work ethic but also enjoyed hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.

Survivors include his daughters, Stephanie Joan Callas of Aiken and Aimee Callas Carter, Ed.D (Matt) of Lexington, SC; a son, Matthew Alexander Callas of Aiken; sisters, Diane Yonce (Charles) of Johnston and Alexis Keith (Larry) of Aiken; four grandchildren, Ashley Winfield, Ashton Winfield, Elliot Carter and Cataleya English and one great-grandchild, Jaden Winfield.
