Alice Jean Warren

September 28, 1944 — May 21, 2026

Saluda

Alice Jean Warren, 81, of Saluda, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Born on September 28, 1944, she was a daughter of the late James Olin and Alberta Hyler Goodman, whom she lovingly considered the most precious parents. She was married to the late Arthur Warren.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew her. Her faith and family were the center of her life, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to both through her loving spirit and faithful service to her church. She found great joy in life’s simple blessings, tending to her flowers and vegetable gardens, spending time with those she loved, and creating meaningful memories with family. She treasured game nights with her extended family, where laughter and friendly competition filled the room, and cherished quiet evenings enjoying dinner and watching Dateline with her immediate family.

Known for her quick wit, opinions, and unmistakable sense of humor, Jean had a way of making every conversation memorable. She was never afraid to speak her mind, but her words were always rooted in love, wisdom, and authenticity.

Above all, Jean was incredibly kind and generous, always ready to help anyone in need. Whether through a thoughtful gesture, a warm meal, or simply being present, she gave freely of herself and made others feel cared for and valued. Her legacy of love, strength, faith, and laughter will continue through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Surviving are her precious daughter, Robin J. Sample Adams, and her loving and devoted son-in-law, Wendell Adams; precious grandchildren, Eve Maegan Sample and Catherine MiKayla Adams (Tyler); and her precious demolition derby great grandson, Damian Jay Rose. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Helen Goodman Rodgers, Judy Marie Goodman Rush, and Marvin Olin Goodman; as well as a special friend, Janet Nix, all of whom will cherish her memory forever. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her precious son, Wesley Sample, whom she longed to see again.

The funeral service for Jean will be held at 3 o’clock on Sunday, May 24th, at Dean's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial immediately following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2 o’clock at the church. Rev. Mark Fincannon will officiate and remarks will be made by Rev. Timothy Thompson. Active pallbearers will be: Tyler Bland, Damian Rose, Mike Neal, Braden Neal, Earl Gentry and Mike Goodman.
