West Columbia

Anthony Melvin Shealy, 70, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Melvin Hilton Shealy and Helen Lewis Shealy. Anthony was a 1973 graduate of Hollywood High School and dedicated much of his life to serving others. He was a founding member of the Circle Volunteer Fire Department, where he faithfully served as Assistant Chief. He also volunteered with Saluda County EMS and the Batesburg-Leesville Rescue Squad. Anthony was employed by Carolina Eastman and as a Critical Care Paramedic until health challenges led to his early retirement.

A faithful member of Summerland Church, Anthony was known for his servant’s heart, unwavering devotion to his family, and appreciation for life’s simple blessings. He enjoyed playing and collecting guitars, following NASCAR, woodworking, caring for his dog (Cali), and spending time with those he loved most. One of his greatest joys was supporting and celebrating the activities and accomplishments of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Hanna Epting Shealy; daughters, Allyson Shealy Bartley (Daniel) and Libby Shealy Shull (Austin); grandchildren, Graham and James Bartley and Nate and Jonah Shull; stepdaughter, Alexandra Renwick Hood (Brannan); stepson, Michael Renwick; and step-grandchildren, Addison, Fischer and Waylon Hood. In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by an infant brother, Russell.

A graveside service will be held at 1 o'clock on Saturday, June 20th at Ridge Crest Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ray Massey officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel, is assisting the family.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Day, Dr. Horning, and the many dedicated physicians, nurses, and staff of Trident Head and Neck Cancer Center, MUSC-Charleston and Alison H. Sallings, PA with Lexington Family Practice. Through their exceptional care, compassion, and dedication, Anthony was able to overcome multiple rounds of cancer and numerous complications throughout a remarkable 25-year battle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the King Partner Program, 3890 Sardis Road, Batesburg, SC 29006 or to animal charity of your choice.
