Archie Eugene Shealy, 86, of Leesville, passed away at home on Friday, April 10, 2026, surrounded by his family. Archie was born on February 26, 1940, to the late Grady and Idell Shealy.
He proudly served in the United States Army as a military policeman, stationed in Sandia Base, New Mexico, from 1962 to 1964. Then served in the Army National Guard of Batesburg and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in July 1968. After his time in the service, he worked at J.B. Martin, then at Hartwell Manufacturing, and finally retiring from Michelin Tire after 22 years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working in the yard, listening to classic country music, and could often be found going for walks with his faithful dog, Bella.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Shealy; his daughter, SeDeris Fogle; and his sons, Donovan Shealy (Scheree) and McKinley Shealy (Sue Ellen). He leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Zoe Fogle, Ella Fogle, Matthew Shealy, and Nolan Shealy; step-grandchildren, Brittany New, Kaitlyn Herron, and Chloe Herron; and step great-grandchildren, Braylen Tardiff and Ryder New. He is also survived by his brother, Talmadge Shealy (Linda); nephew, Walker Shealy (Angela); niece, Whitney Miller (Jason); great-nieces, Bailey Shealy and Harper Miller; and great-nephew, Max Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby sister, Annette Shealy.
The funeral service to celebrate Archie’s life will be held at 2 o'clock on Sunday, April 12th, at Rehoboth Methodist Church of Lake Murray, with Rev. Dr. Noble Miller and Rev. Mark English officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock in the church sanctuary. Active pallbearers will be: Scott Martin, Reggie Martin, Jason Miller, Eric Price, Donovan Shealy, and Walker Shealy. Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel, is assisting the family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of 9 North at Lexington Medical Center, Belinda Rushton with Lutheran Hospice, and sitters Joni Pope and Lela McNeur.
