Augustine O. Frye

Augustine O. Frye, 92, of Leesville, left this earth for her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, where she was joyfully reunited with the loved ones who had gone before her. Born in Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Alfred C. and Myrtice Hall Carroll. She was married to the late Brooks E. Frye.

Augustine loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Global Methodist Church, and her faith was an important part of her life. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her world, and no matter how old they became, she lovingly referred to them as her “little boys.”

Augustine never met a stranger and had a generous and caring heart. If someone was truly in need, she would gladly give them the shirt off her back. She loved people, treasured her family and leaves behind many wonderful memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her daughter, Ingrid W. Hutto (Tim); grandsons, Henry Hutto (Allyson) and Cody Hutto (Allison); great-grandchildren, Eli and Millie Sue Hutto; stepchildren, Sheryl Frye Thorndyke, Katrina Frye Shealy and Brooks Edward “Eddie” Frye, Jr. (Tonya); along with many nieces and nephews. Augustine will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Randall and Craig Wasson; sister, Louise Clark Hopkins; and brother, Floyd "Pedro" Oswald.

The funeral service for Mrs. Augustine will be held at 2 o’clock on Sunday, September 13th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel, with Mrs. Beverly Taylor officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock. Active pallbearers will be: Henry Hutto, Cody Hutto, Timmy Clark, Frankie Clark, Dakota Wise and Travis Taylor.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Augustine’s dear friend, Sheryl Fox, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of Saluda Nursing Center for the care, kindness and compassion shown to her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Global Methodist Church, 513 West Church Street, Batesburg, SC 29006 or to a charity of one’s choice.
