Barbara Kay Frick Brown, 84, of Batesburg, SC, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Born September 21, 1941, in Gilbert, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Pasco and Louise Waters Frick.
Barbara was a beautiful person who will be remembered most for her compassion, concern for others, and the deep love she had for her family. She was a faithful lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church and dearly loved both her Lord and her church family.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Brown Hill (Jim) of Little Mountain; son, Phillip Brown of Batesburg; granddaughters, Sonia Davenport (Damien), Alisha Bodie, Jessica Ponds, and Rachel Fanning (Shane); great-grandsons, Jacob Jumper (Brandi), Garrett Fanning, Tre' Davenport, and Jase Lewis; great-granddaughters, Shelby Fanning and Autumn Johnson; great-great-grandson, Jaxon Jumper. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Taylor (Edward); and brothers, Wayne Frick and David Frick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William "Ted" Dewey Brown; son, William "Lanny" Orlando Brown; sister, Betty Corder; and brother, Theron Frick.
The funeral service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at 11 o'clock, on Thursday, June 11th, at St. James Lutheran Church, with burial immediately following in the church cemetery. Pastor Peter Moray will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock in the church. Active pallbearers will be: Shane Fanning, Garrett Fanning, Damien Davenport, Tre' Davenport, Jacob Jumper, and Josh McMichael. Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel, is serving the Brown family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 308 Church Street, Leesville, SC 29070.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who provided care, support, and kindness during Barbara's illness.
