Barbara G. Edwards

Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara G. Edwards will take place on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 2pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park & Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the time of the service. Mrs. Edwards, 60, of Aiken, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Charles Guinn and Juanita Andrews, she was born in Loretta, TN and had lived in Aiken most of her life.

She was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church and had retired as a Financial Controller at The Savannah River Site. She was known as a compassionate woman who supported many charities and loved to be around children in addition to reading and learning.

She is survived by her husband, James Edwards, Aiken, SC; three children, Michael B. Moseley, Aiken, SC Melissa Johnny Maddox, Clarks Hills, SC and Monica Cromer, Aiken, SC; two step daughters, Lisa Jason Hutto, Williston, SC and Laura Edwards, Easley, SC; a sister, Katherine Kaney, Aiken, SC and a brother, Ron Guinn, TN. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
