Barbara Barham Watson, 73, of Batesburg, South Carolina, was called home by her Heavenly Father on June 14, 2025. Born in Big Spring, Texas, on April 9, 1952, she was a daughter of the late J W and Vounzell Nichols Barham. Barbara dedicated over 40 years of her life to the medical field, serving many years as an administrator for Lexington Urological Associates. She was deeply respected in her profession, having served as a past president of the South Carolina Medical Managers Association (SCMMA) and being honored as Manager of the Year. Those who knew Barbara remember her as a compassionate soul, always concerned for the well-being of others. She lived her life guided by biblical principles, offering kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love to those around her. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Jay Kyle Watson of the home; and by her loving children: Wendy Watson, Michelle Moore, and Anthony Scott Moore; three grandchildren, Amber Tibbs (Matt), Christopher Ray, and Brandon Moore; 11 great-grandchildren: Brianna, Madison, Brantley, Raelyn, Nicholas, Miley, Jacob, Sylas, Jazlyn, and Vanessa. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Smith (Steve); along with nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Barham; four beloved grandsons, Travis Rea, Eddie Reaves, Justin Moore, and Josh Moore; and her precious great-grandson, Bentley Austin Tibbs.
The funeral service for Barbara will be held at 11 o’clock on Wednesday, June 18th, at First Baptist Church of Leesville, officiated by Pastor Charles Leonhardt. Entombment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Hope Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 o'clock on Tuesday at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the life she lived will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
