Betty Jean Wood, 76, of Aiken, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 17, 2026. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Audrey Alderson Roakes.
Mrs. Wood dedicated her life to caring for others through her work in healthcare as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her compassion and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on the many patients and families she served throughout her career. She was a faithful and devoted member of Millbrook Baptist Church, where her presence and quiet faith were a blessing to those around her.
The service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wood will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, April 25th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Aiken Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Chris Masters will officiate. Family and friends are invited to a visitation prior to the service from 1 until 2 o'clock at the funeral home.
