Billy Allen Key

AIKEN: Mr. Billy Allen Key, 80, of Aiken, SC, husband of Mrs. Jenny L. Key, passed away November 10, 2021.

Born March 20, 1941 in Aiken County, SC, he was the son of the late David Key and Ida Adkinson Key.

He was born and raised in Aiken County. He has been a longtime member of Hollow Creek Baptist Church. He retired from welding in 1997 and has been enjoying retirement with his family. He enjoys hunting and fishing.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Bobby Key, Pierce Key and Ted Key.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years; his children, Tearesa Key Williams (Benjamin), of Modoc, Christopher “Gruffy” Key (Carol), of Aiken and Tabatha Lee Maddox (Eric) of Aiken; his sister, Nettie Brown (Bill), of Barnwell; his grandchildren, Shyann, Kaylee, Gracie, Cody, Justin and Lindsay; his great-grandchildren, Naomi and Kaiden; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 3:00-4:00PM at Hollow Creek Baptist Church with services to follow at 4PM with Preacher Darrell Thompson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Boyd, Travis Cushman, Luke Key, Seth Key, Michael Franklin and William Todd.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Billy’s memory to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
