Billy Oswalt

Mr. Billy Oswalt, 77, of Batesburg, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Born in Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Floyd and Lorine Wheeler. Mr. Oswalt was raised in Mt. Ebal Baptist Church and was of the Baptist faith. He was a logger and former employee with Oswalt Lumber as a mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Pilot Oswalt; sons, Dean Oswalt (Linda) and Gene Oswalt (Yvette); grandchildren, Justin Oswalt, Cali Oswalt, Alex Caballero and Tony Lanza; great granddaughter, Jensen Watterson. Mr. Oswalt is also survived by a brother, Larry Wheeler (Ellen) and a sister, Patricia Smith (Wallace).

The service for Mr. Oswalt will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 5th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Paulling officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ebal Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Serving as pallbearers are: Roger Boatwright, Ronnie Boatwright, Anthony Wood, Jamie Oswald, Jacob Burgess, Eric Watterson and DJ Heywood. Honorary pallbearers are: Plato Kneece, Ray Rodgers, Jim Oswald, Roland Davis, and Walter "Scrub" Quattlebaum.
