Brenda Williams Redmond Smith, 75, of Pelion, South Carolina, went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 9, 2026. She now joins her beloved parents, Sampson L. Williams and Lois Jeffcoat Williams, in eternal rest. Brenda lived a life filled with simple joys and heartfelt passions. She loved to cook and garden, finding peace and purpose in nurturing both her family and the things she grew. She was also a wonderful shagger, always ready to dance with a smile and a rhythm all her own. Brenda had a special fondness for listening to Tom Jones, whose music brought her great happiness throughout her life.
Brenda is survived by her sons, Hampton Craft Redmond III (Rhonda) and James Clyde Redmond (Melissa), both of Swansea, SC. She also leaves behind a cherished legacy of five grandchildren: J.C. Redmond (Hannah), Bryce Redmond, Blaine Redmond, Candice Collins, and Savannah Peeples (Dalton); and great-grandchildren, Kolton Lane Redmond, Korey Mitchum, Lainie Burkett, Waeland Peeples, Wyatt Peeples and Elizabeth Peeples. She is also survived by her loving younger sister, Susan Williams Crider, her caretaker for many years who faithfully devoted her time to Brenda’s care; and her older brother, Donnie Williams Sr., both of Pelion, SC. Brenda leaves behind nieces Allison Kaydon Hill (Josh) of Lexington, SC, who lovingly thought of Brenda as a second mother and affectionately called her “Mamakay” and Beth Williams of Fairview, SC; as well as one nephew, Donnie Williams Jr. (Dolores) of Pelion, SC. Her life was enriched by a large and devoted extended family of cousins, great nieces and nephews, and many loved ones who now celebrate her homegoing as she enters her heavenly home.
Funeral services for Brenda will be held at 3 o’clock on Sunday, July 12th, at King Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Ted Miller and Rev. Chris Addy officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2 until 3 o’clock, in the church sanctuary. Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg- Leesville Chapel, is assisting the family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Lexington Extended Care and Lexington Medical Center for the love, compassion, and support shown to Brenda and her family. A special thanks is given to Brian Crider for his devotion to Brenda; and her brother, Donnie, who lovingly prepared many breakfasts for her, a gesture that brought her comfort and happiness.
Memorials may be made to King Grove Baptist Church, 1580 U.S. 178, Swansea, SC 29160.
