Carolyn B. Cockrell, 86, of Monetta, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Aiken County on November 16, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Bodie and Rosa Mae Duffie Bodie. Mrs. Cockrell had a true love for flowers and working in her garden and was well known for having a green thumb. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church of Monetta. She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family and had a special place in her heart for animals.

Mrs. Cockrell was employed with J.B. Martin for many years until her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Randy Cockrell (Edie) and Rebia Marilyn Luckey (Alan); four grandchildren, Gary, Missy, Mandy, and Jennifer; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Billy Cockrell; granddaughter, Samantha Smith; and siblings, Raymond Bodie, D.W. Bodie, Gloria B. Taylor, and Wayne Bodie.

A memorial service to honor Mrs. Cockrell’s life will be held at a later date, with a private family burial at Ridge Crest Memorial Park.  Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel, is assisting the family.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Longs Residential Care, Saluda Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Self Regional Medical Center for the love and care shown to Mrs. Cockrell during her time of need.
