Carolyn Heath Dixon

August 20, 1929 — October 8, 2008

Margaret Carolyn Harper Heath-Dixon, 79, of Aiken, wife of Charles L. Dixon of Aiken, SC, and widow of the Rev. Dr. H. Harold Heath, formerly of Lake Gaston, NC, passed away on October 8, 2008, in Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Mrs. Heath-Dixon is survived by her husband; a daughter Margaret Peggi

Heath Johnson of Vienna, VA; a son, Herbert Bert H. Heath of

Williamsburg, VA; and a daughter, Gwendolyn K. Harrison of Petersburg,

VA.; by a step-daughter, Sandy Hayes and her husband, David and their sons, David & Nick Hayes, Aiken, SC who devoted many hours of love and care for Mrs. Dixon. Mr. Dixon also wants to acknowledge her devoted friend, Suzanne Higgins, Aiken for her love and care.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, David Heath, Dena Heath Kota, Jordan Johnson, Samuel Harrison, Claire Johnson, and Hunter Harrison; and a sister, Dorothy H. Hudson of Salisbury, MD, as well as nieces and nephews.

She was born on August 20, 1929, in Marion, SC. She was predeceased by her first husband, four sisters, and two brothers. She was a member of Fountain Creek Baptist Church of Emporia, VA, and attended Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. She held many positions of leadership in the Women's Missionary Union of each church she attended. She was a member of the Lake Gaston Ladies Club. She was also a member of the Lions Club of Aiken. She was retired from an administrative career working for Salem College Winston-Salem, NC and the federal government at Fort Lee, VA, and the Department of the Interior, Reston, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions can be made to Fountain Creek Baptist Church, 8099 Brink Road, Emporia, VA 23847 or to the Alzheimer's Association.
