Carolyn Woodley

AIKEN, SC: Carolyn Joann Woodley, 89, of Aiken, SC died at 3:30 PM Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Trinity on the Laurens in Aiken.

Born January 25, 1933, in Bloomfield, IA, she was the daughter of Sherman A. and Delorus G. (Horn) McClurg. She married John Willem in Burlington in 1956 and they later divorced. In 1988 she married Albert Woodley. He died on August 15, 1989.

She worked at the Kalmia Landing Office in Aiken, SC.

She was an avid reader. She also liked to grow flowers for her hummingbirds. Carolyn was an Atlanta Braves baseball and an Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include her brother, Larry (Marlys) McClurg of Burlington; two nieces, Lori Cox and Michelle (Tom) Cox; one nephew, Jeff McClurg; great nieces and nephews, Jacob Cox, Austin Cox, Sydney Cox, Adam Cox, Dalton McClurg, Dylan McClurg and Madison McClurg.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in infancy, Roberta McClurg.

The Graveside Committal Service for Carolyn will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 9, 2023 at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA.
