Charlane Josephine Fogle, 76, of Batesburg, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026.

Born on January 4, 1950, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Charlane lived a life defined by determination, independence, and deep love for her family. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Franklin Pierce University , reflecting her commitment to education and personal achievement.

Charlane was fiercely independent and lived life on her own terms. Strong-willed, resilient, and unapologetically herself, she approached every challenge with courage and determination. She had a passion for adventure and was an avid fan of Formula One racing. As proud Harley-Davidson owners, her and her husband Mel embraced the freedom of the open road and the experiences it brought. She also found joy in life’s quieter moments, especially spending time with her husband Mel watching the birds and appreciating the beauty of nature together.

Above all, Charlane was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest happiness came from the people she loved. Her grandchildren affectionately knew her as “Meemaw,” a title she wore with pride and joy. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories and sharing a love that will remain with them forever.

Charlane is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Mel Fogle; her son, Joseph Santos and his wife, Lydia, of Gloucester, Massachusetts; her daughter, Kelly Noel and her husband, Christopher, of Atkinson, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Hannah Theodora Noel, Dylan Noel, Tyler Santos, and Justin Santos; Tyler and Justin’s mother, Kelly Pendleton of Wenham, Massachusetts; her great-grandchildren, Montana and Weston; and her cherished fur babies, Sunny and Maddie. She was preceded in death by her mother, Theodora Fuller.

Charlane will be remembered for her intelligence, strength, adventurous spirit, sharp wit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, independence, and treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and love

As family and friends remember Charlane, they find comfort in one of her favorite songs, Desperado by The Eagles , and the simple wisdom she cherished: “Let somebody love you before it’s too late.”
