Christine Byrd

Christine Jones Byrd, 75, of Monetta, SC died Wednesday, February 29, 2024. Born in Saluda County on March 31, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Troy Jackson and Savannah McCormick Jones. Mrs. Byrd was a loving and giving person and will be missed.

She is survived by her sister, Norma McCarty (Don); and special nephew, Heyward McCarty (Wanda). Mrs. Byrd is also survived by sister-in-law, Patricia Jones; nephew and niece, Brad Jones, Kerrie Charlton; stepchildren, Susie White (Ed), HP Fraley (Maxine), Sam Fraley (Kim), Tiny Stallins, Alvin Fraley (Diane), Steve Fraley (Katy) and Lisa Crosswhite (Brian); 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin “Sonny” Martin Fraley Sr.; son, Michael Edward Byrd; stepson, Donnie Fraley; sister, Joan Murphy; brother-in-law, Donald Murphy; and brother, Harold Jones.

The service for Mrs. Byrd will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8th at Bethel Baptist Church of Monetta with Rev. Preston West officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the sanctuary.
