A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Clara Bangert Cantagi will be celebrated on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 11:30am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery; St. Louis, MO. Pallbearers will be Gary Miano, Thomas Miano, Mike Fanning, Joseph Fanning, Steve Darr, Greg Darr, Bobby Darr, and David Darr. There will be a wake service on Wednesday at 6pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW. The family will then receive friends until 8pm. Mrs. Cantagi, 92, of Aiken, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Mrs. Cantagi was born in St. Louis, MO to the late Charles and Dora Flauaus Bangert. Clara lived in St. Louis, MO, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL before moving to Aiken in 1988 where she was a resident at Mattie C. Hall. She was a parishioner at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cantagi was predeceased by her husband Joseph Cantagi, sons-in-law, James Fanning, and David Darr. Clara is survived by her daughters, Grace Darr, Dorthea Miano and her husband Joseph, Josephine Fanning, all of Aiken, sister, Bernice Guyton, St. Louis, MO, brothers-in-law, Al Guyton, Sam Cantagi, sisters-in-law, Marie Cantagi, Elsie Cantagi, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
