Cynthia Jane Kirkland Stone

Cynthia Kirkland Stone, 71, of Leesville, passed away on October 2, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of Finley Jasper Kirkland and Jeanette Hall Kirkland. She was a 1972 graduate of Keenan High School. Mrs. Stone was a 30-year employee of Baptist Medical Center in Columbia, SC, and then with Palmetto Health.

Surviving are her mother, Jeanette Kirkland of Batesburg, SC; husband of 53 years, James E. Stone; son, James Brian Stone both of Leesville; daughters, Erin Stone of Leesville, Kristin Stone Ickes (John) of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by her brother, Ronnie Kirkland of Gaston, SC; and two grandsons, Nicholas Stone and Bradley Ickes. In addition to her father, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by a niece, three sisters, and a brother.

The memorial service for Mrs. Stone will be held at 4 o’clock on Monday, October 13th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home in Batesburg, SC, with Rev. Dennis Metts officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 3 o’clock.
