Delphine Marie Brockman, 85, of Aiken, SC, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born August 15, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John P. Rabias and Mary Wenta. Known lovingly as “Del,” she was a devoted wife of nearly sixty years, a cherished mother, and a proud grandmother. Her unwavering dedication to family, community, and faith defined the heart of who she was.
Del was a graduate of Michigan State University, where she earned her degree in Interior Design. Following graduation, she built a drapery and interior design business in the Detroit metropolitan area, cultivating a loyal clientele that included players and families of the Detroit Red Wings. Her talent, professionalism, and warm manner made her a trusted name throughout the region. Beyond her career, Del was a passionate fan of the Michigan State Spartans and the Detroit Tigers, and she held her Catholic faith as a cornerstone of her life.
Approximately thirty-one years ago, Del and her husband Ed settled in the Woodside Country Club community, where they embraced an active and fulfilling life — enjoying golf, playing Bridge with cherished neighbors and friends, and building lasting bonds within the community they called home.
For more than thirty years, Del was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, where she generously volunteered her time and talents in a variety of capacities.
She treasured visits with her children’s families in Northern Virginia and at beloved destinations along the Eastern Seaboard. She had a deep and abiding love of the water. At home, she found quiet joy on her porch overlooking the 9th green, birdwatching, tending her collection of exotic plants, and she also had an appreciation for the paintings of Rembrandt and his works of art. Above all, Del cherished her family. She was fond of saying, simply and sincerely: “I just love my family.” The long-standing matriarch of her beloved clan, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and steadfast friend to many across all walks of life and all generations. Her warmth, grace, and caring spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Surviving are her two sons, Keith Brockman (Kathie) and Daryl Brockman (Christina); five grandchildren, Maddie, Cate, Jack, Alex, and Taylor; and her brother, Bob Rabias of Woodside. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brockman was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward J. Brockman.
