Dennis Brent Lundy, 77, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 1, 1948, in Orange, TX, he was a son of the late Paul Silvanus Lundy and Virginia Brent Lundy Campbell. Mr. Lundy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970, where he celebrated his 21st birthday while stationed overseas. Following his military service, Mr. Lundy began a distinguished career in law enforcement and public safety. He served with the Aiken Police Department, the Aiken Fire Department, and the Graniteville Police Department. He later became Chief of Police for MCG Public Safety and served as a South Carolina State Constable as well as with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Department. His dedication to protecting others extended into the private sector, where he founded Sea Pines Security in Hilton Head, served as head of security for JB White, and was a partner in Iron Shield Security and Surveillance Security and Investigations.
A lifelong learner, Mr. Lundy studied law at the University of South Carolina Aiken, blending his passion for justice with his dedication to service. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a gifted musician. In his younger years, he formed his own 1960s hard rock group called The Dennis Lundy & the MOD VI band, which released a few hits titled "What Can I Do", "It's Not The Same", "Long Tall Sally", and "Show Me How". His love for music and his talent as a performer, as well as being a jokester, brought joy to all who knew him. Mr. Lundy was also a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Sarah Lundy; sons, Brenden Lundy (Hailey) and Brent Lundy; daughter, Brooke Lundy (Bryan Pittman); sister, Marie Lundy Cole; mother-in-law, Frances Day Kennedy; and sister-in-law, Tammy Radaskiewicz (Mark). In addition to his parents, Mr. Lundy was preceded in death by brothers, Michael Lundy and Kenneth Lundy; nephew, Stephen Cole; sister, Paula Lundy; and father-in-law, Archie Kennedy.
The funeral service to celebrate Mr. Lundy's life will be held at 6 o’clock Wednesday evening, October 22nd, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Aiken. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 o’clock at the church, prior to the service. A private burial with military honors will be held on Thursday, October 23rd, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
