Donald Burton

SFC Donald Wayne Burton (US Army Ret.),67, of Batesburg, passed away at his home, Sunday, May 9, 2021. Born in Plant City, Florida on August 19, 1953, he was a son of Marian Rehberg Dowdy and the late W O Burton. Mr. Burton retired from the US Army with 20 years of service.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Marian, is his wife, Loretta Harmon Burton; children, Valerie Lennon, James R. Burton, Cindy Burton, Chris Burton, Stephanie Gail Monroe (Paul Edwards); sister, Donna A. Brown (Rick); brothers, James Dowdy (Barbara), and Chris Dowdy (Robin). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, D. Wayne Burton, Jr.

The graveside service for Mr. Burton will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 13th at the Harmon Family Cemetery, 441 Senterfeit Road, Batesburg, SC. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
