Donald "Donnie" Jerome Shealy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on November 22, 1967, in Prosperity, South Carolina, he was a son to the late Richard and Loreita Bedenbaugh Shealy. Donnie was a dedicated employee at Amick Farms where he worked in maintenance, showcasing his incredible ability to fix anything that came his way. His passion for tinkering and problem-solving extended beyond his professional life, spilling into his personal passions on his hobby farm. There, he cared for his cherished goats, embodying a life of humility and dedication to nature. Donnie also enjoyed spending time with his wife, strolling nature trails and hidden jewels of South Carolina.
A man of many talents, Donnie was known for his excellence in cooking, often bringing the family together with his beloved dishes. He was an outdoorsman at heart, spending countless hours appreciating the beauty of the natural world. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of Clydes Chapel Southern Methodist Church, where he found community and spiritual solace.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Alicia Shealy, and their children: Matthew Shealy (April), Darin Shealy, Dalton Shealy (Taylor) and Kathryn "Kitty" Castro (Jacob Lowe). He leaves a legacy of love and laughter to his three grandchildren, Tucker, Preston, and Tenley. He is also survived by his sisters, Dianne Cochran (Charles), Caryn Cockrell (Frankie), Claudia Cochran, Lora Kutz, and Jennifer Joaquin (Leonardo); and brothers Ricky Shealy (Donna), Charlie Shealy (Debbie), Owens Shealy (Marcia), John Shealy (Debra), and Tillman Shealy. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Loreita Bedenbaugh Shealy, as well as his brother, Vaughn Shealy.
A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 o'clock on Monday, August 4th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Oliver Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 7697, Columbia, SC 29202, honoring Donnie's spirit of generosity and compassion for those in need.
