Doris Ruth Bathurst

AIKEN, SC – Doris Ruth Bathurst, 96, widow of Eugene S. Bathurst, Jr, passed away July 7, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Born March 24, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, she was one of seven children to the late Oliver S. Pross and Nora Tighe Pross.

Ruth moved to Aiken in 2009 with her husband Gene after living in Runnemede, NJ for 60 years, where they reared four children.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her children, Eugene Oliver (Ruth), James Bathurst (Mary Beth), both of Woodbury, NJ, Lenore Riley (Steve), Aiken, SC, and Brian Bathurst (Kathy), Gloucester, NJ; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 12PM, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at The Historic George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken, SC 29801, with Pastor Jon Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
