Services for Mrs. Dorothea May Gorse Pope will be private. Mrs. Pope, 77, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late James Arthur Pope, died Tuesday, evening, September 24, 2002. Born in Lynn, MA, a daughter the late Frederick Gorse and the late Lora Morton Gorse, she had made her home in North Ft. Myers, FL, for twenty years, prior to relocating to Aiken, SC, in February of 2002. She was s homemaker. A son, James Byron Pope, and his wife, Lynn, Aiken, SC; and a grandson, James Eric Pope, Los Angeles, CA, survive. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 439, Aiken, SC 29802.
