Edward B. Hallman, Sr, 77, of Batesburg, went home to our Heavenly Father on September 19, 2018.
He leaves behind three sons, Eddie (Cindy) Hallman of Lexington, Keith Hallman of Lexington, and Bobby (Jenny) Hallman of Batesburg; and one daughter, Missy Anderson of Monetta. He was the proud “Pop” of six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Edward was the son of the late Graham and Queenie Hallman of Batesburg. He is predeceased by his wife, Anne J. Hallman and his brother, Lenwood Hallman of Aiken. Surviving are his two sisters, Ann (Marvin) Powell of Batesburg and Carolyn Westmoreland of Gilbert, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed’s favorite pastime was fishing. He also loved golf, watching all kinds of sports, and tinkering with old cars. His favorite place to visit was the mountains. Ed also enjoyed cooking at functions at his church and truly enjoyed spending time with his church family at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church.
Edward will be forever loved and always missed by his family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 22, at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with Rev. Bill Paulling officiating. Active pallbearers will be Dean Bedenbaugh, Johnny Powell, Eric Powell, Reed Sanders, Ken Lorick and Duane Peak. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 21, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at the home of his son, Bobby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, 5 Lion Loop, Batesburg, SC 29006.
