Eric Matthew Pentz

Eric Matthew Pentz, 37, of Jackson, South Carolina, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Born on January 17, 1989, in Columbus, Ohio, he was a son of the late Michael and Susan Pentz. Eric was born with complicated health challenges, but from an early age he proved to be a fighter and overcame odds. During his childhood, Eric moved with his family to West Virginia, where he enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing with neighborhood friends. Although his health prevented him from participating in organized sports, he was an avid football fan and followed the game with great enthusiasm.

Later, Eric relocated to South Carolina with his parents and his brother, David, where he would live for the remainder of his life. As an adult, he became a proud father of two children, whom he loved dearly. They brought great joy and purpose to his life. Eric worked a variety of jobs throughout the years and was most recently employed doing landscaping with 3-D Outdoors. He was hard-working and had a kind heart. Eric will be remembered for his fighting spirit, his love for family, his funny personality, and the heart he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.

Surviving are his daughter, Chasidy Clark; son, Eric Pentz, Jr.; four brothers; and two sisters. Eric was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service to celebrate Eric's life will be held at a later date. Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Historic Aiken Chapel, is serving the family.
