Evelyn Kyzer Gantt, 90, of Batesburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, July 9, 2022. She was born on April 17, 1932 to the late Lonnie "Carl" and Emma Williams Kyzer. Ms. Gantt was a hard worker; she worked with Burlington Industries for 30 years, raised chickens along side of her husband for 40 years, as well as worked at the Gilbert Senior Center. She was a long time member of Old Samaria Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities. She loved her church and serving her Lord.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Harriet Kyzer; brother-in-law, David Clamp, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also her beloved poodle, Sugar Baby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald Gantt; and brothers, Carl Kyzer, Jr., Allen Kyzer (Martha) and Donald Ray Kyzer, Sr.
The funeral service for Ms. Gantt will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 12th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park with the Rev. H. Barry Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Wally Gantt, Jamin Grandy, Donald Ray Kyzer, Jr., Gregg "Jack" Lorick, Ricky Oswalt and Tony Riendeau.
Memorials may be made to Old Samaria Baptist Church, 9457 Old Two Notch Road, Batesburg, SC 29006. The family would like to thank the staff and special nurses at Oakleaf Village of Lexington for all their care and support.
