Flora C. Carroll

AIKEN, SC – Flora C. Carroll of Aiken, SC, entered into rest February 2, 2021 at Augusta University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Mrs. Carroll was born December 6, 1934, in Horry County SC, the daughter of Parlett Tillman and Dessie Canady Caines. She graduated from Loris High School, Columbia Business School and South Carolina Bankers School. She retired from Bank of America and was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. Her passions were her flowers, reading and of course her pride and joy – her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Gene Bagwell Sr, and brother, Richard P. Caines.

She is survived by her husband, James H. (Jim) Carroll. Other survivors include her son Larry Gene Bagwell, Jr. of Kuwait; three daughters, Robin J. (Deno) Verenes of Aiken SC, Sandra B. (Wayne) Yount of Claremore OK; Penny B. (Cary) Johnson of North Augusta SC; one step-daughter, Patricia (Jay) Pittman of Aiken SC. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Dr. William Royce (Cary) Caines of Seneca SC, three sisters, Rachel Kisiah of Florence SC, Loretta (Dr. Charles) Peele of Gainesville FL, Melba (Samuel) Payne of Charlotte, NC and brother-in-law, John Summa Jr of Parma Heights OH.

A Memorial service will be held at South Aiken Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM on February 13, 2021. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken SC. Due to the current pandemic and the related CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. Facemasks are requested.
