Florence Rowan

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Rowan will be private. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken is assisting the family.

Mrs. Rowan, 81, of Aiken, died Friday at her residence.

Born in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Jessie Meadows Anderson, Sr. She moved to Aiken in 1985 from Miami, FL. She retired from the US Postal Service in 1973 after eleven years of service in mail distribution. While working at the Post Office she received several distribution awards. She loved to read and go to the library.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jim Rowan, brothers, Thorbun "Bud" Anderson, William W. Anderson, Jr., Walter E. Anderson, sisters, Virginia Murphy, Sarah Houk, Jessie Edgar, Marie Diduch, Uncle, Eddie Lyons. She is survived by her brothers, Charlie D. Shirley Anderson, Aiken, James D. Edna Anderson, Augusta, sisters, Rosa White, Myrtle Krepps, both of Augusta, several nieces
