A funeral Mass for Frances Louise Calabro will be celebrated on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 2pm at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will take place at St. Charles Cemetery in Pinelawn, NY. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Aiken is assisting the family. Memorial donations may be directed to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.

Mrs. Calabro, 89, of Aiken, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Home, Aiken. A daughter of the late Casmir Yonkauski and Hedwiga Augaitis Yonkauski, she was born in Rumford, ME and had lived in Forest Hills, NY before moving to Aiken two years ago and enjoyed breakfast at IHOP on Saturday mornings with her daughter Mary, followed by a visit to Books-A-Million. She loved reading on the porch of Trinity Lutheran Home. She was an accomplished hand quilter.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Anthony Calabro 1989 and a brother, Stan Yonkauski.

She is survived by two daughters; Mary Calabro and her husband Randy Scott, Aiken and Dolores Berg, Yorktown Heights, NY and a son, Col. John Calabro, US Army, ret. and his wife Angela, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY; six grandchildren, Lara Herbolsheimer, Sean Hanley, Jac Calabro, Tony Calabro, Rob Berg and Jon Berg; and five great grandchildren, Charlotte, Ethan and Colin Herbolsheimer and Joseph and Jake Calabro.
