George L. Satcher

George L. Satcher, 80, of Leesville, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025. Born in Ward, SC, he was a son of the late Leroy and Madelene Ergle Satcher. George was married to the late Joye Taylor Satcher for 58 years. He proudly served in the United States National Guard. George retired from a career at Hartwell Industries and was a longtime member of the Circle Volunteer Fire Department, where he also retired. In addition, he ran a refrigeration sales and service business on the side, a trade he worked in throughout his life. He attended Concord Baptist Church and Still Waters Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Maria Black and former son-in-law, Jeff Black; daughter-in-law, Summer Satcher; brother, Larry Satcher (Ruth); grandchildren, Emily Chavis (Cameron) and Will Satcher; and great-grandchildren, Carleigh and Cameron Chavis. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Chad Satcher; siblings, Sam Satcher, Vadis Rogers, Margaret Ann Fulmer, Josephine Craps, and Sarah McGee; and his great-granddaughter, Chloeigh Chavis.

The memorial service will be held at 12 o'clock on Saturday, July 19th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Epps officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to service, beginning at 11 o'clock at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be retired and active members of the Circle First Department.
